We are very proud of our staff. We have a friendly, caring, honest, trustworthy, approachable, dedicated and enthusiastic team.
Our staff are highly experienced, qualified and are DBS checked as well as reference checked prior to employment. Childcare staff hold a level 2, 3 or 4 qualification in childcare. All staff continually update their knowledge through regular training which includes, Safeguarding, First Aid for Babies and Children, Level 2 Food Safety.
We have a dedicated Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead, Health and Safety Co-Ordinator and Fire Warden to ensure our practice is a safe and nurturing environment for your child.
Ratios
At each session we have higher than the expected levels of ratios of childcare workers to children. We have at least 6-8 childcare workers at each session divided between one room and the outside area. Ratios are maintained throughout to the number of children inside or outside. These may be even higher dependant on the need of the children attending. There is a maximum of 36 children at each session.
Keyworker role
All children have primary and secondary key persons. This ensures that there is always a key person at every session that is a familiar and trusted person who knows your child well. Each key group consists of a maximum of 6 children of mixed ages, sexes and abilities.
Your child’s key person has a special responsibility for working with your child, giving them the reassurance to feel safe and cared for. Our key persons will develop a genuine bond with your child and offers a settled, close relationship with them. When your child feels happy and secure in this way, they will feel confident to explore and to try out new things. Your child’s key person meets the needs of each child in their care. Careful records of your child’s development are created and shared with parents, the child, the key person and other professionals as necessary, to enable appropriate planning for your child’s developmental needs.
At Little Saints, no matter which member of staff is your child’s key person, information, queries, concerns can be addressed to any staff member. All information shared between parents and the setting is treated confidentially.
